What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear India? Most people will likely answer Bollywood, the Taj Mahal, as a country with a reasonably high rape rate. All of these assessments are not wrong, considering that this country in the South Asian region seems to have two different sides that become one at once. India is known as one of the most progressive countries in terms of economy and technology, but the social problems in the Taj Mahal are no less complex. Apart from rape, India also has a lot of slums. This is also evidenced by a survey of various research institutions that put India on the top list of countries with the highest pollutant levels worldwide. There are some social problems in India.
Poverty is Everywhere
As previously mentioned, India may have a relatively rapid economic development. Still, a survey from the Rangarajan Committee shows that more than 38% of the population lived below the poverty line in 2014. With this great poverty, many people live in inappropriate places such as riverbanks, slum settlements, and the like
The Density of People, The Main Problem
India is one of the most populous countries in the world, with a population of more than 1 billion citizens. That number makes them the second most populous country after China. Poverty and overcrowding are the ‘right’ combination to create a slum and polluted environment. Garbage is scattered, and the number of vehicles and related things makes India look dirty. Because of these social norms, people who feel they belong to a higher class tend not to want to do jobs identical to those of the lower strata.
A Helping Hand from Artnme to India
To help overcome this problem, Artnme works together with RSKS (Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan) to help the children in order to get a better future.
Artnme as an art and social platform for the underprivileged and orphaned children encourage India’s children to be the best version of themselves and to give many help such as foods and also school stationeries.
With the collaboration with various NGO, Artnme intends to help the children all over the world and to make this Earth a better place.
